Broncos' updated defensive line depth chart with Shamar Stephen

After agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Shamar Stephen on Tuesday, the Denver Broncos have shored up their depth on the defensive line.

We’re still early in the offseason, but we might already be able to predict the six defensive linemen who will make the 53-man roster this summer. Here’s a way-too-early defensive line depth chart projection for Denver.

Before adding Stephen, the Broncos had good depth at defensive end (Williams and Agim), but little depth at nose tackle. Purcell now has an experienced backup behind him in Stephen and Denver has enough defensive linemen for a rotation that should keep everyone fresh.

With nose tackle shored up, the Broncos shouldn’t need to select any defensive lineman in the NFL draft. Denver still could add depth on the d-line, but it’s certainly not a pressing position of need.
