Three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth has made it abundantly clear that he’s not a fan of Russell Wilson.
Wilson, who played for the Denver Broncos in 2023, was cut earlier this offseason. He then signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In April, the Pirates invited Wilson to one of their games so he can throw out the first pitch.
After seeing Wilson’s first pitch, Schlereth tweeted, “I’m pleasantly surprised he didn’t pull the ball and scramble for a strike!”
This isn’t the first time that Schlereth has dunked on Wilson.
Back in early March, Schlereth ripped Wilson to shreds during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.” He said the veteran quarterback’s performance in Denver was “garbage” for most of the 2023 season.
“He threw the ball behind the line of scrimmage more than any other quarterback in the league last year. He took more time to throw the ball than everybody in the league other than Justin Fields,” Schlereth said, via Steelers Now. “I think he completed 26% of his passes, intermediate range in the middle of the football field, which was dead last in the National Football League last year. So you can sit there and tell me that he played good and you can look at the numbers and tell me 26 and 8 is good and I will tell you it’s garbage. What I saw was garbage and I’m just letting you know how it is.”
Schlereth has covered a plethora of Broncos games over the years. His analysis on Denver’s squad is worth listening to.
That being said, Schlereth may want to consider taking it easy on Wilson now that he’s out of the Mile High City.
