Broncos sign defensive lineman Isaiah Mack

February 12, 2021 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

The Denver Broncos have signed defensive lineman Isaiah Mack, The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran first reported Thursday.

Mack (6-1, 299 pounds) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Chattanooga with the Tennessee Titans in 2019. As a rotational defensive lineman, Mack totaled six tackles, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery in 13 games as a rookie.

After being waived by the Titans last November, the 24-year-old defensive lineman was picked up by the New England Patriots. After recording three tackles in eight games, Mack finished the second half of the 2020 season on the Patriots’ practice squad.

Mack joins a defensive line room in Denver that already includes
Mike Purcell, DeShawn Williams, Jurrell Casey, Dre’Mont Jones and McTelvin Agim. Shelby Harris, one of the team’s top defensive linemen, is scheduled to become a free agent in March.

Mack is the first signing new general manager George Paton has made this offseason. Earlier this month, Paton waived five players who were on the roster bubble. Paton made a big move on Wednesday, releasing veteran cornerback A.J. Bouye to create more salary cap space.

After failing to land Matthew Stafford, Broncos might consider these 10 other QBs
