Wilson is a guy that the Broncos pursued and traded for from the Seattle Seahawks. They gave up a mountain of a haul to get him and then paid him a massive contract that Denver is still navigating the dead money from. In the two seasons he was with Denver, the Broncos went 11-19 with Wilson under center. Sean Payton was quick to move on from Wilson at the end of the 2023 season and then drafted Bo Nix. The rest was history so to speak.
As for the Broncos and Giants franchises, they have squared off 14 times (including Super Bowl XXI), and the series is deadlocked at 7–7. In recent years they’ve alternated wins, as Denver has gone 2–1 against New York in the last three meetings. The most recent game was during the 2021 season opener on September 12, 2021, where Denver traveled to MetLife Stadium and came away with a 27–13 win on the road to kick off the year.
This game will be hyped up big time due to Wilson’s return, but with where the Broncos are compared to where they were with Wilson — they should be favored to win this game at home.
