Broncos ranked No. 5 on NFL.com's list of most complete teams

May 31, 2022 by Broncos Wire

While New England Patriots Hall of Famer Willie McGinest predicts the Denver Broncos to go 9-8 next season, an analyst for the league’s official website pegs the Russell Wilson-led team as the fifth-most complete squad heading into 2022.

NFL.com analyst Marc Ross slid in the Broncos as the last team on his list of five most complete teams. The Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams received honorable mention notices as well.

Atop the list is the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Buffalo Bills, respectively, right behind them. Right above the Broncos at 4 are Patrick Mahomes‘ Kansas City Chiefs. Oof.

“It was a toss-up between Denver and Cincinnati for the final spot,” Ross writes. “Ultimately, I chose the Broncos — making them the third AFC West team on this list — because of the franchise-altering trade they made for Russell Wilson. The addition of the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback raises the level of the entire organization with his deep-passing accuracy, ability to escape pressure and make plays off-schedule.

“Wilson is the missing piece in an offense full of playmakers, including receiver trio Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick  and Jerry Jeudy . However, it is worth noting that Jeudy was recently arrested on second-degree criminal tampering charges with a domestic violence enhancer. An NFL spokesperson told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that the situation is being reviewed under the league’s personal-conduct policy.”

The third phase of OTAs began last week. Broncos Country gets to see how complete the team is when training camp starts next month and during the preseason. For now, check out the rest of Ross’ blurb on the Broncos and the other four teams on the league’s official website.
