The Denver Broncos have protected four players on the practice squad ahead of a Week 4 showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.
Denver protected offensive tackle Quinn Bailey, wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland, linebacker Curtis Robinson and guard/center Austin Schlottmann.
Cleveland will likely be in consideration to get elevated to the game day roster this week after the team placed KJ Hamler on injured reserve.
Robinson is a candidate to provide more depth at linebacker after Jonas Griffith was placed was on IR and Schlottmann can provide cover at guard if Dalton Risner and/or Graham Glasgow are sidelined this week.
Teams can protect up to four players on the practice squad each week. Unprotected players are eligible to leave the team to join another team’s active roster.
The Broncos promoted quarterback Brett Rypien from the practice squad to the 53-man roster this week after another team tried to sign Rypien off Denver’s practice squad.
The Broncos also signed wide receiver David Moore off the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad after losing Hamler to a knee injury.
