The Denver Broncos have protected tight end Troy Fumagalli, safety Alijah Holder and inside linebacker Josh Watson on the practice squad this week, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
Because they are protected, Fumagalli, Holder and Watson will not be allowed to leave the team this week. Unprotected practice squad players are permitted to leave if offered a spot on another team’s active roster.
Denver’s unprotected practice squad players this week are offensive linemen Quinn Bailey and Jon Halapio, wide receivers Fred Brown, Trinity Benson and Kendall Hinton, defensive linemen Darius Kilgo and Deyon Sizer, linebacker Nigel Bradham, tight end Jordan Leggett, running back Damarea Crockett and quarterback Blake Bortles.
Center Patrick Morris is currently on the practice squad/injured list.
Fumagalli and Watson were both flexed to the active roster for last week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Teams are allowed to call up two practice squad players per week during the season.
