The Denver Broncos will welcome back a full-capacity crowd in Week 3 when they host the New York Jets in their home opener on Sept. 26.
Before even playing at Empower Field at Mile High, though, the Broncos got a taste of playing in front of their fans in Week 1 when orange and blue jerseys were sprinkled throughout the New York Giants’ stadium.
As Giants fans began to leave MetLife Stadium in the fourth quarter, Denver’s fans got louder — and the players noticed.
“It was great coming out of here tonight with a victory,” quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said after a 27-13 win. “You talk about the support that we get within this organization. You look up at the end of the game and you see a sea of orange jerseys and fans just out here supporting us. It was great to experience that. It was a great experience getting that first win.”
Bridgewater and Co. will be supported by an even larger sea of orange when 76,125 fans pack Empower Field at Mile High in two weeks.
