With the Broncos defense looking like it does on paper, this figures to be a real test for Ward in his NFL debut. I would have to give the edge to Denver even if I weren’t already a Broncomaniac who bo-lieves in this team completely. I somewhat expect the Broncos offense to start the season a bit slow, but I do not expect the same from the defense.

A full touchdown spread seems way to high to me for a Week 1 game, but I could have my judgement clouded by the fact that the Broncos offense just hasn’t been that good for so long that I just expect a close, low-scoring game. In Bo Nix’s first game on the road last year, they scored 20 so maybe a touchdown spread could work out.

I’ll probably just wait until Week 1 is just around the corner to see where things stand then though, but if you twisted my arm I’d probably take the under this far out.
