The Denver Broncos selected Nik Bonitto with the 64th overall pick in the NFL draft last week.
The edge rusher drew comparisons to Von Miller during the pre-draft process. Ironically, he’s helping replace Miller with the pick the Broncos acquired by trading the aforementioned Miller to the Los Angeles Rams. Instead of teaming up with Miller, though, Bonitto joined Bradley Chubb and Randy Gregory after being selected.
He’s eager to team up with Denver’s veteran pass rushers.
“It’s going to be great man,” Bonitto said last week. “Those are two guys who have had a lot of success in the league. Learning from a guy like Randy who had a great year last year. A guy like Chubb [who was] very highly picked — [a] talented guy. He’s been in this league for a while too. Just getting to learn from those guys is going to be great for me.”
Chubb and Gregory are the favorites to start the year as Denver’s top two pass rushers, but Bonitto will get plenty of opportunities to rotate in.
