Broncos offseason roster: No. 61, G Graham Glasgow

June 12, 2022 by Broncos Wire

Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at sixth-year guard Graham Glasgow, No. 61.

Before the Broncos: Glasgow was a Michigan Wolverine in college, often finding himself playing against some of the toughest competition in college football. A former college walk-on, Glasgow was a four-year player at the University of Michigan.

Despite what might be perceived as a lack of experience, Glasgow stayed in Michigan, as he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft.

As a Lion, Glasgow was a consistent starter, playing in at least 15 games in each of his four seasons. In 2020, the Denver Broncos signed Glasgow to a four-year, $44 million contract.

Broncos tenure: Glasgow started 13 games during the 2020 season, finding himself as one of the most consistent faces on a laundry-list offensive line. In 2021, Glasgow found himself on the COVID-19/IR list and later suffered a broken leg and torn ligaments that ended his season prematurely. He was available for just seven games last year.

Chances to make the 53-man roster:  Glasgow’s injury allowed his backup, Quinn Meinerz to step up down the stretch. In 2022, Glasgow took a $5.9 million pay cut to stay in the Mile High City. He’ll compete for a starting spot this summer with Dalton Risner and Meinerz among his competition.

Although Glasgow is coming off an injury that could have truly ended his career with the Broncos, expect him to make waves during camp and earn his way (either as the primary starter, or at the very least, a backup) onto this year’s roster.
