Broncos offseason roster: No. 46, LS Jacob Bobenmoyer

July 8, 2022 by Broncos Wire

Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at third-year long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer, No. 46.

Before the Broncos: Bobenmoyer (6-2, 235 pounds) played linebacker and long snapper at Northern Colorado. He was initially focused on defense in college until he broke his foot and had more time to practice snapping. Bobenmoyer soon perfected the art of snapping and quickly became the team’s starter and he played well enough to draw attention from NFL teams.

Broncos tenure: Bobenmoyer went undrafted in 2019, but he was invited to Broncos minicamp on a tryout basis. Denver then signed Bobenmoyer, but he failed to beat out Casey Kreiter for the starting job and did not make the 53-man roster as a rookie. One year later, though, the Broncos re-signed Bobenmoyer and he’s held the team’s long snapper job since then.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Bobenmoyer’s name isn’t heard often, and that’s typically a good sign for a long snapper because it often means there aren’t mistakes to point out. Right now, Bobenmoyer’s the only long snapper on the 90-man offseason roster, so it seems safe to assume his job is safe.
