The team-building process of the offseason is basically over for the Denver Broncos and now the football conglomerate waits for OTAs to start next week.
In the meantime, football pundits are reflecting on who “won” or “lost” said offseason. Enter Pro Football Focus. The analytics website gave the Denver’s offseason moves an “A” grade.
The site grades the Broncos’ overall offseason an “A,” their free agency grade “above average” and their draft grade a “B+.” Huzzah.
“Few teams made a bigger move in the offseason than the Broncos, who finally found a franchise quarterback in Russell Wilson via trade. Last offseason, this roster was an elite quarterback away from contending, and while it isn’t quite the same roster, they will be hoping that enough of the important pieces remain so that the same thing is true,” PFF wrote.
Of course, the real wins Broncos Country wants to occur are this fall on Sundays. But as a team that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2015, winning the offseason possibly portends a new era in Denver. We’ll see.
Elsewhere in Broncos news, the team’s over/under win total for next season is set at 10.5 For reference, the team hasn’t posted a double-digit win season since the aforementioned 2015 season. The Broncos are 3.5 favorites against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.
