Melvin Gordon has been more than serviceable this season but turn to Williams. It’s time to let the rookie go and make him the every-down running back for the Broncos.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

There isn’t much to get excited about when it comes to the Denver Broncos.

If ever there was an evergreen statement, that’s it for the last going on six seasons. But there is one that we hopefully see today against the Dallas Cowboys.

Javonte Williams.

The rookie running back known as “Pookie” is such a fun player to watch and is now a fan favorite in Broncos Country. Fans can wear the moment with this new Pookie shirt and hoodie from BreakingT.

Yes, Melvin Gordon has been more than serviceable this season but turn to Williams. It’s time to let the rookie go and make him the every-down running back for the Broncos.

Just about everyone reading this and who watches Denver knows Gordon won’t return next season. So it’s time to see what the Broncos got in Williams. Is this a guy who can carry the load offensively? Can he do what’s needed as a pass protector? Can Denver rely on him as a receiver out of the backfield? Can he hold onto the ball?

Those are questions the Broncos need answers to but can get them over the remainder of the 2021 season. That’s not to say Williams morphs into Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry, but find out. Williams has shown flashes through the first eight games, now it’s time to take the training wheels off, so to speak.

While Denver gets answers for the future, it could also help the team now. Since it makes so much sense, that means it won’t happen and the status quo will remain.

Welcome to the last going on six years in Broncos Country.
