Broncos have parted ways with 12 coaches so far this offseason

February 7, 2022 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

The Denver Broncos fired head coach Vic Fangio (1) following the 2021 season, and he was just the first domino to fall.

Denver replaced Fangio with former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who has been busy building his coaching staff. So far, Hackett has parted ways with 11 of Fangio’s assistants.

Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur (2) will not return. Former Green Bay Packers tight ends coach Justin Outten will replace him.

Denver defensive coordinator Ed Donatell (3) is also moving on, with Los Angeles Rams secondary coach/pass game coordinator Ejiro Evero expected to replace him after the Super Bowl.

The Broncos are also parting ways with special teams coordinator Tom McMahon (4). Rams assistant special coach Dwayne Stukes is a candidate to replace him.

Denver is also replacing offensive line coach Mike Munchak (5), bringing in former San Francisco 49ers assistant OL coach Butch Barry to replace him. Broncos assistant OL coach Chris Kuper (6) is also moving on.

Denver has also parted ways with quarterbacks coach Mike Shula (7), replacing him with ex-Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The list of Broncos coaches not returning also includes assistant to head coach/offensive quality control Mike Hiestand (8), pass game coordinator Chris Beake (9), offense quality control coach Chris Cook (10), tight ends coach Wade Harman (11) and inside linebackers coach Reggie Herring (12).

Some members of Fangio’s old staff will return, including defensive backs coach coach Christian Parker. We are tracking all of Denver’s coaching staff developments on this page.
