The 2022 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will be played in Pasadena, California on Saturday evening.
The Denver Broncos have taken note of several undrafted gems at recent collegiate bowls, including cornerback Rojesterman Farris and quarterback-turned-wide receiver Kendall Hinton in 2020.
Last year, the NFLPA had a virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Three future Broncos attended the virtual event in 2021: offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz, outside linebacker Andre Minze and defensive lineman Marquiss Spencer.
Two years ago, Denver was impressed by wide receiver Juwann Winfree, fullback George Aston and, perhaps most notably, outside linebacker Malik Reed.
After making the 53-man roster as a rookie, Reed was initially expected to play as a rotational pass rusher, but injuries to both Von Miller and Bradley Chubb opened the door for Reed to start 34 games over the last three years.
Reed has totaled 123 tackles, 30 quarterback hits, 15 sacks, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries since 2019.
