Broncos FB Andrew Beck will be recognized during 'NFL Honors'

February 10, 2022 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

The Denver Broncos probably won’t receive many (if any) on-field awards at the “NFL Honors” awards show on Thursday evening, but one of the team’s players will be recognized with an off-field award.

Broncos fullback/tight end Andrew Beck has been named the winner of the 2022 Salute to Service Award, the NFL and USAA announced Wednesday.

“To win this award means so much to me. Working with the military and giving back to them is something I’m passionate about,” Beck said in a statement. “I grew up in a military family, so I know the things that they go through. My dad is such a big role model to me. This will be a memory I cherish for the rest of my life.”

Beck’s father, Chris, is a Brigadier General in the U.S. Army. He surprised his son with the news on Jan. 22.

Andrew Beck thought he was participating in a reenlistment ceremony.

The award, presented by USAA, recognizes “exceptional effort to honor and support members of the military community,” according to a press release from the Broncos.

The league will recognize Beck during its “NFL Honors” awards show on Thursday evening. The show will air at 7:00 p.m. MT on ABC.
