Before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury last September, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller had an excellent offseason and was in fantastic shape going into the regular season.
During a press conference on March 22, Broncos coach Vic Fangio praised Miller for the work he put in leading up the 2020 season. Fangio expects a similar approach from Miller this summer.
“We had a lot of injuries last year which you guys are all aware of,” Fangio said. “One of the ones that was most disappointing and hard to take was his. Not because of who he is, but I saw a guy that was in the best shape that I had seen him in two years. People that have been here longer than me said the same thing.
“He had a focus and desire for last season and then for him to get that freak injury in first-week game preparation … [it] was very, very disappointing because I think he was primed to have a really good season, and I mean a really good season by his standards. Hopefully, he’s going to do the same thing he did this last offseason. He’ll do it and come back in great shape, also.”
Before last year’s injury, Miller had totaled 71 sacks in his last six seasons. He’ll look to build on his franchise-record 106 career sacks this fall.
