After a lockdown season and earning AP Defensive Player of the Year honors, Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain earned yet another accolade.
Surtain was named as a Professional Athlete of the Year by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame last week. Surtain will be honored alongside fellow Colorado superstars, the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon at the CSHOF’s 60th annual banquet on April 9 in Denver. The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame resides inside Empower Field at Mile High.
Surtain is the first Bronco player since former Denver running back Phillip Lindsay (2018) to be given Pro Athlete of the Year honors.
Last fall, the Broncos reached their first postseason since 2015 when they won Super Bowl 50. Surtain was one of the team’s captains during the remarkable 2024 season. The Broncos look to build on their playoff appearance, hoping to become a regular at the top of the AFC standings for years to come.
