Broncos add to their safety depth.

The Denver Broncos have announced that they have signed veteran safety Tedric Thompson. He played his college ball at Colorado so now he’ll be returning to Colorado to play for the Broncos.

Thompson is a 6-0, 204lb safety who has played a total of 4 seasons in the league and is 26 years old. In four seasons, Thompson has totaled 61 tackles, 5 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble, and 3 interceptions.

He will provide some much-needed depth at safety after the Broncos placed rookie safety Jamar Johnson on the reserve-Covid-19 list which may sideline him for a good portion of the Broncos Training Camp.

Thompson has a decent shot at making the Broncos 53-man roster as the team’s third safety entering the season. With Johnson sidelined, that leaves fellow rookie Caden Sterns, P.J. Locke, and Trey Marshall as the only other safeties on the roster.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Broncos continued to add to the safety position throughout the summer and during the final cuts process.
