The Broncos announced that they have made several roster moves after their rookie minicamp practices this weekend.

According to the Denver Broncos, they have signed veteran tight end Cole Fotheringham and long snapper Zach Triner, along with rookie tryout players linebacker Jordan Turner and wide receiver Kyrese White. In a corresponding move, the team announced they have released rookie UDFA’s Kendall Bohler and Christian Dowell and tight end Thomas Yassmin, and linebacker KJ Cloyd.

Bohler and Dowell were among the Broncos’ undrafted free agent signings, but both players were released after the rookie minicamp practices. KJ Cloyd signed to the Broncos’ practice squad late last season and was signed to a futures contract, but the team decided to go in another direction. Aussie Thomas Yassmin was an undrafted free agent signing by the Broncos last season and was given their International roster exemption, but was let go by the team today. With Yassmin off the roster, rookie punter Jeremy Crawshaw now gets the International roster exemption, according to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis.

Cole Fotheringham is a 27-year-old tight end who played his college ball at Utah and was an undrafted free agent during the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent his first two seasons with the Raiders and was on their practice squad for the vast majority of that time. He was waived by the Raiders last season and spent time on the Texans‘ practice squad before signing with the Raiders’ practice squad yet again before being released by the team in mid-December. Now, he joins the Broncos and adds some depth to their tight end room.

Long snapper Zach Triner re-signed with the team after they released him ahead of the rookie minicamp. He is needed due to long snapper Mitchell Fraboni undergoing minor back surgery and being sidelined for most of the offseason. He likely is just an offseason camp body until Fraboni is healthy.

Former Utah State wide receiver Kyrese White was a rookie tryout during the Broncos’ rookie minicamp this past weekend and did enough to make the team. He is a 5’10”, 185-pound receiver who is coming off a year where he totaled 44 receptions for 526 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is a long shot to make the team, but a strong summer could make him a candidate for the practice squad.

Linebacker Jordan Turner, who played his college ball at Wisconsin and Michigan State, was another rookie tryout player who made the Broncos roster. He is a 6’1, 231-pound linebacker who totaled 201 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, 8 sacks, 5 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles in 42 career games with Michigan State and Wisconsin. While at Wisconsin, he played with Broncos defensive backs coach Jim Leonhard and that connection likely helped him get the tryout and roster spot with the team. Now, he’ll look to push for a roster spot and more likely a spot on the practice squad this offseason.
