Breaking: Former Broncos First Round Pick On Trade Block

May 11, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

noah fant trade

Due to a new regime, former Denver Broncos tight end Noah Fant may be available for a trade before the 2025 regular season. According to a report, the source believes the veteran may be in a uniform as he’s entering the last year of his contract. Originally selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Iowa product became a reliable pass catcher for the Broncos, but was sent to Seattle during the 2022 offseason in exchange for former quarterback Russell Wilson. The Seahawks saw a lot in this tight end after picking up his fifth-year option just a month later, but now that the team has a new tight end, there’s no realistic path for him to stay on the roster.

Fant went on to record 50 receptions for 486 yards and four touchdowns, but couldn’t pick up the slack in the following 2023 campaign. Despite that, he did earn a new contract before the 2024 season, but the Seahawks have a new head coach who is obviously looking in another direction. After drafting second-round pick Elijah Arroyo, if they feel like he can produce better as the starter for this offensive unit, it shouldn’t be surprising if the Seahawks move on from Fant. Either way, the veteran’s time is winding down, but there might be a new opportunity with these five teams.

Possible Next Teams

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers need another dynamic playmaker to mortgage their future. Will Dissly might be on the chopping block if he doesn’t outplay Tyler Conklin this upcoming season. 2024 draft selection Ladd McConkey is still the best pass catcher on this offense despite signing Conklin and veteran Mike Williams. They’re looking into a reunion with Keenan Allen, but he’s washed up as well.

Fant might be the best case scenario for Jim Harbaugh’s offensive plan to get three capable tight ends, especially if they want to run the football more often.

Washington Commanders

Meanwhile, the Commanders could use a long-term weapon like Fant. Zach Ertz is coming back on another rental year and will likely hang up his cleats after the 2025 campaign. Even with signing John Bates this offseason, he’s only reliable in the pass-block situation, and Fant could be the pass-catcher that gets the job done in the aerial attack for quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Kansas City Chiefs

This is the most logical fit for Fant. The Chiefs will need a fresh tight end when they lose Travis Kelce due to retirement. Fant won’t be the next Kelce, but it buys the Chiefs some time to look in next year’s draft to mortgage their future.

Dallas Cowboys

Finally, the Dallas Cowboys got a wide receiver to help star CeeDee Lamb in the aerial attack after trading for George Pickens. This new duo could reach new heights, but they can’t ignore the tight end department. Jake Ferguson is entering the final year of his contract, and he’s on the hot seat this season after missing a few games last campaign. Fant could fill the hole if they can’t retain Ferguson due to cap issues.

Baltimore Ravens

The same can be said about the Baltimore Ravens. Mark Andrews has high hopes to still be in a uniform for Baltimore this year, but that will be up to general manager Eric DeCosta. No one is taking Isaiah Likely’s starting job, but they need a viable backup if they trade Andrews away.
