Sean Payton accomplished his culture change for the Denver Broncos in Year 2, leading the team to a ten-win season and a playoff appearance. While the Broncos still have work to do, enhancing the play of its best players is a part of culture building. This season, they did that.
Four players were named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pro team following the 2024 campaign. Star cornerback Pat Surtain made the first team while guard Quinn Meinerz, safety Brandon Jones and returner Marvin Mims received second-team recognition.
Surtain also recently received the nod as the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year for 2024, so this accolade from PFF just adds to his impressive portfolio. Below, PFF noted what made Surtain such a force in 2024:
Surtain had a tremendous season covering some of the best receivers in football. On the field for 648 coverage snaps in 2024, he allowed a 61.1 passer rating and just 8.6 yards per reception on throws into his coverage.
Congrats to the four players on their impressive honor. All four will look to make big impacts again in 2025.
