The Colorado Avalanche did work to help the Eagles, too.
The start of the new league year isn’t just for the NHL level, but many transactions impact organizational depth and the minor league system. As the Colorado Avalanche have been busy shaping their roster in recent days, there’s also been movement to form the Colorado Eagles for the 2025-26 season.
First, and arguably the largest piece of business, was signing Eagles starting goaltender Trent Miner to a two-year contract extension right before qualifying offers were due. Miner gets a nice raise with the minor league guarantee portion of his contract and security in a multi-year deal while still maintaining league minimum salary should he get called up to the NHL. A nice agreement for both parties.

Also returning to Loveland to help the veteran core are forward TJ Tynan and defenseman Jack Achan. Both are back at the affordable league minimum NHL rate of $775k but Tynan will make $525k at the minor league level and Achan $425.

A new face for the Eagles blueline is Ronald Attard, a right shot defenseman who played last season for Bakersfield scoring 17 points in 59 games. Attard played at Western Michigan with Eagles forward Jason Polin, so perhaps some familiarity worked in favor of the signing.

Also worth noting, the Avalanche didn’t qualify any of their remaining Restricted Free Agents making Jean-Luc Foudy, William Dufour, John Ludvig and Kevin Mandolese free agents. There will be no arbitration filings this summer for Colorado.
